This beautiful converted barn for long term rentals in Southern France is located in the village of Escales, situated in between Narbonne and Carcassonne. The village is just 30 mins to the coast and it is surrounded by vineyards and wonderful open countryside. The property comes with 3/4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, swimming pool, off-road parking and WiFi.
Both sides of the house have a lovely garden, completely landscaped with outdoor lighting. The gardens offer plenty of sun, shade and shelter. This long term rentals property has been tastefully decorated and has successfully combines a contemporary feel within a traditional stone-built building. The owner will accept a small well-behaved dog and pets, by prior agreement.
The house can be rented for up to 12 months from €1000 to €1200 per month + bills

The ground floor of the barn consists of a living room with open plan kitchen and dining area. Both the living room and kitchen have doors opening onto the gardens.
- There is a television in the living room and a nice wood burner that keeps the house lovely and warm during the winter.
- In the kitchen there is a larder style fridge freezer, electric oven with a gas hob (bottled gas) and a washing machine.
- The dining room has a table with seating for 6-8 people.
- There is also a double bedroom and a bathroom with separate toilet.
Open stairs lead up to the first floor
- Bedroom 2 is a large double bedroom with exposed beams.
- Bedroom 3 contains twin beds. This bedroom has some restriced height
- Bedroom 4 can either be used as a home office, sitting room/snug or as an occasional bedroom for guests. There is a sof which folds out to form a double bed.
- There is also a second family bathroom with bath and shower.
Outside: the large garden is 200m2 and completely walled, making it safe for children. There are two mulberry trees in the centre of the garden offering shade and a hammock to rest in. At the rear of the house there is a lovely secluded garden with a newly installed pool and paved sunbathing area. There is also a lovely seating area built into an old ruin.

Last visited: August 2024. This really is a beautiful property for a long stay in Southern France. The house is located in an active village, with a local school, post office, boulangerie, grocery shop, restaurant and sports facilities. The property would suit a family relocating to France or a couple with regular visitors.

This long term rentals property in Southern France is located in a private road devoid of traffic. The village of Escales is a traditional wine-making village with a town hall, school, post office, boulangerie and grocery shop. There is a local bar and restaurant, as well as a weekly butcher´s van. Next to the house are a tennis court, basketball and football area, free for everyone to use.
The Mediterranean beaches are just 30 minutes away. The large towns of Narbonne and Carcassonne are both 25 mins drive and the smaller town of Lezignan-Corbieres is just 10 mins down the road, where you will find plenty of supermarkets, shops and services.

There is a TGV train station in Narbonne and a local train station in Lezignan-Corbieres.
