La République is a charming 2 bed village house for long term rentals set in the heart of the atmospheric coastal town of Argeles-sur-Mer. The town is located in the Southern most part of France on the Mediterranean coast, close to the Spanish border. This long term rental house is 5 mins walk from the train station and 25 mins walk from the beach (there is also a bus direct to the beach every 15 mins).
The house overlooks the beautiful old square and faces the School of Music. The house comes with a garage (for storage) and a beautiful roof top terrace where you can enjoy breakfast and sunbathe. Next door to the house there is a beautiful pavement café full of local charm and ambiance.
Available for long term rentals between October to May from €875 per month + bills.

The house is laid out over 4 floors and comes with reversible air conditioning:
Ground floor
- On the right as you enter the house there is a utility room with washing machine, iron and ironing board.
- There is also a garage, which has direct access from the square at the back of the house. The garage is useful for storing bikes and other small items. There is a small patio table and chairs which you can put out onto the square.
First floor
- There is a spacious lounge, which has views out over the square at the back of the house. The lounge comes with air conditioning. There is a sofa, 2 armchairs, a small TV and a dining table.
- The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, hob, dishwasher, coffee machine and plenty of storage space.
Second floor
- There is a large double bedroom with a comfortable bed. The bedroom has views out over the square towards the School of Music.
- The bathroom comes with a bath, overhead shower and a double sink unit. There is a separate WC next to the bathroom.
Top floor
- There is a large double bedroom, which comes with a standard size double bed, wardrobe, bedside cabinets and chest of drawers. The bedroom has a reversible air conditioning unit.
- There is a roof terrace which is equipped with a barbecue and patio furniture. The terrace is very private and is not overlooked.

The house is available for long term rentals between October to May. The prices quoted below are based on an 8 month rental period. Higher prices will apply for shorter rental periods and rentals in September and June. The rental prices do not include the utility bills (there is a monthly provision of €200 towards the electricity, water, Wi-Fi and communal taxes). Minimum stay is 3 months.

Long term rental by the beach South France - Our Opinion
Argeles-sur-Mer is a great location for a long term rental in Southern France. The beach is just 2-3 mins drive and the town comes with all the facilities and services that you will need (including a local train station with services to Perpignan and along the Mediterranean coast to Collioure and Port Vendres). There is also a very good local bus service (so hiring a car is not essential).
The house is located right in the heart of the town overlooking a quite square. With 2 bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, private roof terrace and a garage for storage, the house provides a comfortable base for a house hunting trip or on an extended holiday. Argeles-sur-Mer is ideally located for long term winter rentals by the beach in France.

Area activities
This house for long term rent in France is located close to the beach in Argeles sur Mer. Argeles has some of the best beaches in the South of France, with 7 kms of coastline and 3 kms of small coves. The resort that has been granted the blue flag award for its beaches and harbour. It has two nature reserves: Mas Larrieu nature reserve by the sea and La Massane forest in the heart of the Albères.
Argelès-sur-Mer itself is a typical coastal town, with a warren of narrow streets, colourful buildings and a lovely 14th century Church. The town is just 20 kilometres from Perpignan. There is a local train station with services to Perpignan and down the coast to Collioure and Port Vendres. At the back of the town, there are a number of paths which take you up into the mountains.
Other transport
There is a local train station in Argeles-sur-Mer (quite near the house) which provides local trains to Collioure and up to Perpignan. From Perpignan you can access the mainline TGV trains to Paris, Barcelona, Montpellier, Toulouse, etc.
You can catch a bus from Argeles-sur-Mer for one euro which will take you straight into Perpignan and the surrounding villages.

Rent to be paid in advance on the first day of the month (for rentals of 3 months or less, the rent is to be paid in full prior to arrival). The utility bills are to be paid in addition to the monthly rent. There is a monthly provision of €175 towards the utility bills. References may be required. Minimum stay is normally 3 months.
