Château du Trichot is a magnificent 12th century French castle available for long term rentals between September to June. The Chateau comes with high vaulted ceilings, large stone fireplaces and a majestic stone staircase. The Château is approached up a long private drive and is set amongst mature cedar trees. Château du Trichot is surrounded by 18 acres of private land.

The Chateau is laid out over two floors and also features a tower. The entrance is through an archway into the private courtyard.
Ground floor
- The beautiful entrance hall features exposed stone walls and antique furniture.
- The stunning lounge features a stone vaulted ceiling, open fireplace, 2 sofas and a Grand piano.
- The large dining room also has a stone vaulted ceiling, beautiful tiled floor and open fireplace. The long dining table can seat 14 people. The dining room provides access out onto the terrace on one side of the room and the barbecue area on the other side.
- The kitchen is a beautiful room, with stone walls, tiled floor and brick built central island. The kitchen has an electric oven, microwave, gas hob, dishwasher and a large fridge/freezer.
- There is a small single bedroom just off the lounge.
First floor
There are four double bedrooms, 3 with en-suite bath or shower room.
- The master bedroom has a large four poster double bed and comes with a view across the vineyards towards the village church. There is an en-suite bathroom with bath, overhead shower, sink and WC.
- Bedroom 2 is a double bedroom, with an additional sleeping area containing two single beds (suitable for children aged 4-10 years old) on the adjoining mezzanine gallery. There is an en-suite bathroom with shower, wash basin and WC.
- Bedroom 3 is a double bedrrom which looks out to the gracious cedar trees in the garden. There is an en suite shower room.
- Bedroom 4 comes with a four poster double bed overlooks the pretty courtyard.
- There is a bathroom (for Bedroom 4) with a bath, overhead shower, sink and WC.
- Bedroom 5 is located up the ancient stone tower room and comes with three single beds.
Outside
- Château du Trichot has a large, heated swimming pool (12m x 6m) which is enclosed by a safety fence.
- The south facing sun terrace has tables and chairs for dining outside, and the courtyard has a barbecue for parties by the pool.
- There is a flood-lit hard tennis court.
- The Chateau is surrounded by 18 acres of private land, including a celebrated vineyard.

Château du Trichot can be rented on a monthly basis between October to May. The normal minimum stay is 2 months and the rental price will depend on the duration of your stay and the season. The rental prices are purely for residential accommodation only. Additional charges may apply for hosting large events (such as weddings, corporate events, etc.). Pets may be accepted through prior agreement.

Last visited: July 2024. This beautiful Chateau in the Lot-et-Garonne department, close to Dordogne, provides an impressive base for a long winter stay in Southern France. The Chateau comes with 6 bedrooms, extensive grounds, a tennis court and heated swimming pool. Rent your own Chateau in France and immerse yourself in history and total peace and tranquility.

Château du Trichot is located in a beautiful part of south-west France, with the Dordogne to the north, the Cahors vineyards and Quercy National Park to the east and the forests and limestone plateau of the Lot-et-Garonne to the west. Major towns in the area include Bergerac to the north, Toulouse and Montauban to the south and Agen and Marmande to the west.
Nearby you have many sites to visit including the stunning hilltop town of Rocamadour, some beautiful castles and fortified towns (such as Chateau de Bonaguil and Chateau de Duras) and 2 of the prettiest villages in France: the hill-top village of Monflanquin and the 13th century village of Villereal, with its famous weekly market.
The nearby village of Tournon-d'Agenais has a cafe-restaurant, a small supermarket, epicerie, butcher, hairdresser and 2 boulangeries.
Other transport
There is a TGV train station in the nearby towns of Montauban and Agen.

The nearest airports are located at Toulouse (90 mins) and Bergerac (90 mins)

Château du Trichot is located 35 mins to the A20 motorway (which runs from Paris down to Toulouse) and 40 mins to the A62 motorway (which connects Toulouse and Bordeaux).

One months deposit to be paid at time of reservation. The rental rate is to be paid prior to arrival (for reservations of 3 months of less). For longer rental periods, the rent can be paid in advance on the first day of each month. In addition to the monthly rent, there is a provision towards the utility bills, firewood and communal taxes. Minimum stay is usually 2 months. Prices will vary according to the duration of your stay and the season. Pets may be accepted through prior agreement.
