The house is laid out over 2 floors and provides 200 m² of living space.
Ground floor
There is an entrance hall which provides access to the lounge, dining room and bedroom, as well as stairs up to the first floor.
- The beautiful dining room features a large open fire and a long antique dining table, with seating for 8-10 guests. It is a working fireplace and it is lovely to invite guests for dinner next to the crackling fire.
- The lounge is accessed from the entrance hall and comes with an exposed stone wall and solid wodden floor. There is a large corner sofa, pool table and table football. There is also a flat screen TV (smart TV with Netflix). The fireplace provides a good heat for the house.
- The modern kitchen contains a large range cooker, American fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and plenty of storage space.
- The Bedroom 1 comes with 2 single beds, a large stone fireplace and storage shelves.
- There is a bathroom with a shower and wash basin. There is a separate toilet
First floor
The first floor has solid wooden floors and contains a long corridor which provides access to the 4 bedrooms and bathrooms.
- The Master bedroom is a very large room with a King-size double bed, original fireplace, antique dressing table and large wardrobe. There is an en suite bathroom which comes with a walk-in shower, wash basin and WC.
- Bedroom 3 is accessed from the Master bedroom and comes with 2 single beds. There is a small bath in the bedroom, with overhead shower. This is perfect for bathing small children.
- Bedroom 4 is fitted with a double bed and also comes with an antique baby cot. The bedroom features the original stone fireplace and a wardrobe.
- Bedroom 5 is a large room with 3 single beds.

- There is a lovely garden (1000m2) which comes with a lawn, courtyard and several seating areas, including a large covered terrace located in a former barn. From every corner of the garden you have a view of the tower of the town\'s Romanesque church.
- There is a children\'s play area in the garden with swings and a trampoline.
- The heated swimming pool is 6m x 3m and comes with a pool alarm. It is a salt water pool. Surrounding the pool there is a deck with seating area. The pool has nice views back over the garden towards the church tower.

Maison aux Volets Bleus can be rented on a monthly basis from October to April. The rental prices are based on a an occupancy level of 4-6 people. Additional guests are welcome (there is a total sleeping capacity of 10 guests), but additional charges will apply for extra line and towels, as well as utility costs. In addition to the monthly rent, there is a provision of €400 towards the electricity, water, heating, Wi-Fi and a contribution towards the local taxes. Firewood to be purchased separately. Pets may be accepted through prior agreement. The normal minimum stay is 1 month.

Maison aux Volets Bleus is a perfect place to grab a slice of French village life in the beautiful Dordogne region of France. The house will ideally suit a family or a couple with frequent guests. The garden provides a haven of peace and quiet, yet is within walking distance to the village shops.
The house is located on the edge of the Bordeaux wine region, close to Saint-Emilion, Pomerols and Bergerac. Bergerac airport is 40 mins drive and Bordeaux is 1 hour. There is a TGV train station in the nearby town of Libourne. The house is just 10kms from the Bordeaux-Périgueux motorway.

The house is located on the edge of the village of Saint-Martin-de-Gurson and you can walk to the bakery, grocery store, bar-restaurant, hairdresser, playground and public tennis courts. The village shop sells vegetables, fruit, pizza and on Sundays, oysters and roast chicken! The village is 10 mins drive to the town of Montpon, where you will find everything for daily use.
Near to the village, there is the Lac de Gurson, a fresh water lake popular for swimming and canoeing in the summer months. The lake has a number of small beaches.
The village is close to Saint-Emilion (25 km through the vineyards), Bergerac (30 mins), Périgueux (45 mins), Bordeaux (1 hour) or even the Atlantic coast (just 130 km away!).
The Dordogne is home to some of the prettiest villages in France and many are located in the local area, including:
- Monpazier is an exceptional 13th century bastide town (fortified village) and it is widely recognised as among the most beautiful villages in France. The large open market square, which still holds weekly markets today, is always popular with visitors.
- Limeuil has a popular river beach where the Vezere and Dordogne rivers join.
- The picture-postcard village of La Roque-Gageac is situated along the banks of the Dordogne river.
- Domme is a beautiful hilltop village with lovely honey-coloured stone buildings. Under the village there is an extensive network of caves. From the top of the village you have fabulous views across the river and countryside
- Castelnaud-la-Chapelle is a very pretty village best known as the site of the Chateau de Castelnaud - the most visited castle in the region
- Beynac-et-Cazenac is situated about 10km South-West of Sarlat, on the banks of the Dordogne river. The local castle here was once put under siege by Richard the Lionheart.
- Belves is one of the liveliest and most attractive medieval town in Dordogne.
Close-by you will find the Chateau Vigiers golf course, one of the best courses in South West France, which also has a Michelin star restaurant (Les Fresques).
Nearby, you will also find horse riding stables, tennis courts and fishing. For younger visitors there is plenty to do and see including canoeing on the Dordogne river and a Tree-climbing adventure park. In the nearby town of Bergerac, there is Ten pin bowling, a professional go-karting course, mini-golf, Trampoline Parc and Laser Quest. Close to Sarlat-la-Canéda, you will find Aquarium du Périgord Noir, the largest private indoor aquarium in Europe.
Other transport
There is a TGV train station in the nearby town of Libourne, with services to Bordeaux and Paris.
Airports
The nearest airport is located at Bergerac (30kms) which is serviced by Ryan Air and British Airways. Bordeaux airport is 1 hour 30 mins.
Driving directions
Saint-Martin-de-Gurson is located between Bergerac and Saint Emilion. The main Bordeaux-Périgueux motorway (A89) is just 10 mins from the village.
