Saint Chinian is a small town with a population of around 2000 people and remains full of life all year-round. Several restaurants and cafe bars are all within walking distance and there is a small supermarket in the town. There are also three boulangeries in the town, a pharmacy, a newsagents and tabac.
The famous Saint-Chinian wines are available from local, friendly producers offering free tasting sessions, with the closest right next door at Maison des Vins.

The apartment is located on the third floor of a town house in the centre of Saint Chinian. The apartment provides 35m2 of living space and will suit a single person or couple.
- Taking the whole top floor of the building, La Lavande apartment has exposed beams and sloping ceilings. The apartment is spacious and open, with light flooding in from the large skylight.
- The living room comes with a large comfortable sofa, air conditioner/heater and small flat screen TV.
- The kitchenette has a 2 plate stove, sink, fridge, microwave/grill, kettle, coffee machine and toaster, plus plenty of cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery.
- There is a small dining table with two chairs.
- The bedroom area has 2 comfortable twin beds which can also be turned into a perfect king size bed.
- A built-in wardrobe and a cupboard allows your clothes out of your suitcase!
- The large, fully tiled bathroom has a shower cubicle, hand wash basin and cupboard with mirror, toilet, set of drawers and a hair dryer.

If you are looking to experience the real South of France, then this lovely apartment in the wine producing town of Saint Chinian is an excellent option. This cheap long term rental apartment in Southern France provides and excellent base if you are house hunting or looking to enjoy the winter months in the South of France.

Saint-Chinian was founded by monks in 825 AD who built a monastery here. They then went on to create vineyards that saw the start of the prosperous local economy.
Today, wine continues to be the main industry and free tasting sessions are available at wines are available from local, friendly producers, with the closest right next door at Maison des Vins. St Chinian Red wine is the usual tipple, but rose is also made. Bottles can be bought very cheaply, or you can purchase by the litre at the Coop on the edge of the town.
Every Thursday and Sunday, one of the best markets in the area literally arrives at your doorstep! The stalls abound with fresh, locally grown seasonal produce, including goats cheeses, oysters and seafood, meat and fish, and fresh fruit and vegetables.
Several restaurants and cafe bars are all within walking distance offering a variety of delightful French fare.
For general shopping, there is a Spar supermarket a two minutes walk across the square, and a larger supermarket, an Intermarche, is only a 5 minute walk across the river or 2 minutes by car. There are also three boulangeries in the town, a pharmacy, and a newsagents and tabac.
The area surrounding Saint-Chinian, and the nearby Haut Languedoc Natural Park, is a great place for walking and bike rides. A board on the square shows the walks available from the doorstep that meander through the vineyards and up into the wonderful hills surrounding the village, with amazing views.
The picturesque village of Roquebrun, is perched over the banks of the river Orb and has a Mediterranean garden that is well worth a visit. The river beach is used for picnics, swimming as well as trout fishing.
Béziers is an excellent town for shopping. It has shops and stores of all sizes, from the Polygone shopping mall, the Galeries Lafayette department store to small trendy boutiques.

There is a TGV train station in Beziers (25 mins). There is a bus service between Saint Chinian and Beziers.
