La Grange Sud is a beautiful farmhouse, situated in a stunning area of Dordogne close to the pretty town of Bergerac. The farmhouse overlooks the 2nd and 4th fairways of Chateau Vigiers, one of the best golf resorts in the South West of France. Chateau Vigiers also boasts a Michelin star restaurant as well as a brasserie.
La Grange Sud is a beautiful 4 bedroom property, with exposed oak beams, Italian travertine floors and high quality furnishings and fixtures. The property can be rented on a monthly basis from October to May from €1,650 per month + bills. Annual 12 month rentals can also be arranged (price to be negotiated)
Long term rentals Dordogne - facilities
The farmhouse is laid out over 2 floors.
Living rooms
- The sitting room and dining room are open plan.
- The sitting room comes with a large leather sofa (with two reclining seats) and two armchairs with footstools. There is a Freesat TV and large selection of DVDs and board games. There is also an open fireplace. French doors lead out to the large balcony with views over the golf course.
- The dining room seats eight guests. The farmhouse\'s original bread oven links the dining room to the kitchen.
- The kitchen is fitted with oak units, cream Rangemaster stove with electric double oven and five ring gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, large fridge/freezer. The oak dresser provides plenty of storage space. This room has a window overlooking the pool area.
- French doors lead from the kitchen to a partly covered terrace with Weber gas and charcoal BBQ's and large dining tables with seating for 16. From this terrace you can enjoy the views over the pool area and garden.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
- The farmhouse comes with 4 en suite Bedrooms (all with quality mattresses, air conditioning and flat screen TVs for DVDs)
The Lavender Bedroom is located on the ground floor and comes with a Super King size bed and French doors which lead onto the large balcony where guests can enjoy an early morning coffee overlooking the golf course. This bedroom also has a day sofa which can convert to a single bed for a child.
The Yellow Bedroom is also located on the ground floor. This large bedroom comes with a King size bed, flat screen TV and is situated at the back of the house and overlooks the circular drive. It has a large en suite bathroom with an antique cast iron bath and walk in shower.
The Rose Bedroom is on the first floor and has lovely views over the golf course and the pretty valley. The bedroom has a King size bed and a Day sofa which can convert to a single bed for a child. There is an en suite shower room.
The Green Bedroom is also on the first floor and has views over the golf course. This room can be either a twin or a super king bedroom and has an en suite shower room.
Outdoor space
The farmhouse is set within a one acre meadow, extending from the pool area. The garden comes with an orchard and a hammock and table and chairs overlooking the Chateau Vigiers golf course.
There is an enclosed area around the circular driveway with bistro table and chairs.
- The heated swimming pool is 9m x 5 m (open Easter to November). The pool has a retractable cover.
- Surrounding the pool there are lots of sun loungers, two large canopies for shade and a covered pool dining terrace with seating for 16 people.
- Enjoy the two Weber charcoal and gas BBQ's cooking whilst enjoying the views.
Barn in Dordogne for long term rentals - prices
This barn in Dordogne can be rented for 3-9 months between October to May. The prices do not include the utility bills, firewood and communal taxes (there is a monthly provision of €250 towards the bills). Minimum stay is 3 months, not available June to September.

This high-end long term rental property in Dordogne is perfect for golfers and couples looking to enjoy a few months in South West France with all your creature comforts. The property is furnished to a very high standard.

Area activities
La Grange du Sud is located close to Chateau Vigiers, an impressive 16th Century Chateau with 18 hole golf course, spa and Michelin restaurant. The Chateau is a 1 minute drive or a gentle stroll.
Nearby, you will also find horse riding stables, tennis courts and fishing. For younger visitors there is plenty to do and see including canoeing on the Dordogne river, about 45 minutes drive to the east of Bergerac, an Ecological Farm 30 minutes south of Eymet, a Tree-climbing adventure park and an Aqua park with four 1,000 m2 swimming pools with water slides and direct access to the river.
In the nearby town of Bergerac, there is Ten pin bowling, a professional go-karting course, mini-golf, Trampoline Parc and Laser Quest. Close to Sarlat-la-Canéda, you will find Aquarium du Périgord Noir, the largest private indoor aquarium in Europe.
The Dordogne is home to some of the prettiest villages in France and many are located in the local area, including:
- Monpazier is an exceptional 13th century bastide town (fortified village) and it is widely recognised as among the most beautiful villages in France. The large open market square, which still holds weekly markets today, is always popular with visitors.
- Limeuil has a popular river beach where the Vezere and Dordogne rivers join.
- The picture-postcard village of La Roque-Gageac is situated along the banks of the Dordogne river.
- Domme is a beautiful hilltop village with lovely honey-coloured stone buildings. Under the village there is an extensive network of caves. From the top of the village you have fabulous views across the river and countryside
- Castelnaud-la-Chapelle is a very pretty village best known as the site of the Chateau de Castelnaud - the most visited castle in the region
- Beynac-et-Cazenac is situated about 10km South-West of Sarlat, on the banks of the Dordogne river. The local castle here was once put under siege by Richard the Lionheart.
- Belves is one of the liveliest and most attractive medieval town in Dordogne.

La Grange du Sud is easy to reach by car, being 6 hours from Caen and St Malo.

La Grange Sud is only 20 minutes from Bergerac airport with flybe, Ryan Air and Jet2. Bordeaux airport is 1 hour 30 mins.
